Jack-up hotel rig on journey from Grenaa to China
CCO at Port of Grenaa, Theis Gisselbæk expresses great enthusiasm that the Port of Grenaa and its partners were given the opportunity to handle this very special task, which was only possible due to the great water depth and good navigational conditions available in Grenaa.
It is a rare, special and major operation to handle such a task. "That's why we've also produced some impressive footage of the loading and unloading, which we'd like to share with the industry."
Record-breaking ship in Grenaa
With a length of 206.3 metres and a width of 43 metres, Audax is the largest vessel to have called at the port of Grenaa. This heavy-module carrier was built in 2016 and is of the Arctic ship type. It is built to operate below polar class 3, which is the highest ice class for a civil/commercial ship.
