The sanctions override the port's reception obligation and will enter into force on 16 April 2022.

"After 16 April 2022, EU ports will be prohibited from receiving vessels registered under the Russian flag."
In the context of the European Union's 5th sanctions package against Russia, a ban on Russian-flagged vessels entering Danish ports was adopted on 8 April 2022. The sanctions are set out in Regulation No 2022/576 of 8 April 2022 , which is directly applicable in Denmark and which overrides the obligation of ports to receive the vessels in question.
