The application deadline is approaching: Funding for local enthusiasts and communities
From a bike race to benefit the Danish Multiple Sclerosis Society to community-building and activities underwater. Glenn Selbo from Grenaa and the Havodderen association are two examples of local initiatives that have recently received support from the Port of Grenaa.
Wednesday, September 30, is the application deadline for the next round of Grenaa Port grants and sponsorships.

With support from Grenaa Port, among others, Glenn Selbo has participated in Cykelnerven—Denmark’s toughest charity bike race to benefit the Danish Multiple Sclerosis Society. In this event, riders challenge themselves on some of the iconic Tour de France mountains while raising money for multiple sclerosis research and the effort to build a future free of the disease.
Glenn has received sponsorship support from the Port of Grenaa for his participation. Together with support from a wide range of other sponsors and donors, he has managed to raise a substantial amount of money for the good cause.

Community Beneath the Sea's Surface
Another initiative that has recently received support from the Port of Grenaa’s Grants and Sponsorships program is the Djursland Team Cup – Havodderen Open.
The event was held at Grenaa Harbor at Fornæs Ship Recycling and brought together 22 teams and 44 underwater hunters this year—the largest number of participants in several years.
The event is organized by the Havodderen association, which brings together free divers and underwater hunters who share a passion for the ocean and life beneath the surface.
In addition to the competition itself, there was a focus on the marine environment. A special prize for the best collection of marine debris gave participants an extra incentive to retrieve trash from the ocean.
Grenaa Port’s sponsorship of the event helped fund the prizes and the post-competition meal—and thus contributed to the overall atmosphere of both the competition and the sense of community.
